“A great base track system for use with the UdiRECO system where you have uneven walls” – Chris Brookman

Product overview.

Where is it used?

  • UdiBASE variable plinth base track wall connection profile is mounted at the base of the wall before application of the insulation boards.
  • It usually starts at a minimum of 150mm from the ground level.

How is it used?

  • Start by setting up a level, using either a string line or a laser level.
  • Fix the UdiBASE variable plinth base track wall connection profile to the wall with the appropriate masonry/timber fixings.
  • Pack uneven surfaces with spacers to ensure the profile is straight.
  • Mitre any corners.
  • Ensure a 3mm gap between sections to allow for expansion. Gaps should be taped with Ampacoll XT tape to ensure weather tightness.
Technical Details

How much do I need?

  • Each length of UdiBASE variable plinth base track wall connection profile is 2.0m long and the pieces can be joined end to end so simply measure the total running amount required.
  • These tracks are available individually or in packs of 10 pcs.

Product overview.

Where are they used?

  • As a walling or ceiling board.
  • Between bedrooms and bathrooms
  • Bathroom and kitchen ceilings
  • Stud partitions

How are they used?

  • EBB Clay boards should be fixed using either drywall screws or stainless screws (depending on plaster to be applied) to a timber frame at a maximum of 625mm centres for walling and 417mm centres for ceiling applications.
  • 36mm plastic or stainless steel washers should also be used for ceiling applications.
  • As with all boarding, vertical joints should be staggered by at least 1 stud to avoid cracking.
  • Once the EBB Clay boards are installed they can be plastered with either lime based plasters (use stainless steel fixings) or clay based plasters (normal drywall screws are fine for this).
  • The joints should be reinforced with 100mm wide reinforcing, bedded in the plaster, although fully meshing the base coat works best.

How much will you need?

  • The EBB Clay boards are 1250 x 625mm and 22mm thick, they cover an area of 0.78 m² per board. Allow at least 5% for wastage.

Are they heavy?

  • The boards themselves weigh around 23kg each so need careful handling and for ceiling applications should be installed with a plasterboard lift.

What is their thermal conductivity?

  • The clay boards are not designed to be a thermal insulator but their thermal conductivity is around 0.47 W/mK, similar to many lime or clay plasters.

Material in action.

Here you can see the UdiBASE variable base profiles being used with the UdiRECO wood fibre insulation. This allows the UdiRECO to be installed, tightened and levelled and then have the outer drip section pushed firmly up against the face of the boards.
