Where is it used?

• Ampacoll DT double sided mounting tape is used internally to allow the temporary mounting of membranes to surfaces, prior to fixing with counter battens or overboarding.
• It can be used to mount membranes directly on to all types of timber rafters or studs, timber boards such OSB, ply, MDF and wood fibre boards with the use of primer.

How is it used?

• Surfaces should be clean, dry and free of dust before the tape is applied.
• The tape is applied straight off of the roll to the surface of the timber or board.
• For walls, in conditions without wind, the tape can be used at 800 – 1600mm centres but this should be reduced if the site is windy.
• For the underside of roofs use at 400 – 800mm centres.
• If you are taping to wood fibre boards the Ampacoll Primax Primer should be applied and left to dry first. This ensures that the tape will stick properly to these surfaces.
• Once the membrane is in place and the joints are taped, counter battens should be applied to fix the membrane in place. This should be done within 12 hours of initial mounting.
• Ampacoll DT double sided tape is not suitable for holding membranes in place whilst loose fill insulation is blown in. Appropriate counter battening must be installed.

How much will you need?

• Each roll of Ampacoll DT tape is 20mm wide and 50m long.
• Allow 0.6-1.2m of tape per m2 of wall or 1.25 – 2.5m per m2 of roof, depending on conditions.
