  • an easy to use, hydraulic lime based render/plaster which is creamy white in colour.
  • Highly breathable meaning it can be used on historic buildings and wet areas internally.
  • Baumit Klima RK70N is suitable for use throughout the whole interior of the building.
  • It can be used on external facades but should be decorated with the appropriate Baumit paint finishes.
  • Because of it’s high breathability it can be used as a top coat in wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens and can also be used as a plain or fine finish plaster depending on the method of finishing.

Where is it used?

  • It can be used on external facades but should be decorated with the appropriate Baumit paint finishes.
  • Because of it’s high breathability it can be used as a top coat in wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens and can also be used as a plain or fine finish plaster depending on the method of finishing.
  • It can also be used as a base coat and finish coat plaster for all interior wood fibre insulation boards.

How is it used?

  • Baumit Kalkin RK70N should be mixed by a plaster whisk with clean tap water to a smooth consistency and then applied by hand or it can be spray applied by machine.
  • As a base coat it is applied at around 5mm on to carrier boards such as wood fibre insulation boards and reinforced with the Baumit StarTex mesh.
  • As a finish coat it is typically applied at a thickness of 2mm on to sound substrates and then left to stiffen.
  • Once stiff the plaster can be sponged with a fine sponge or a steel trowel can be used to produce a finer finish.
  • The sponge finish would be recommended for external applications.

How much will you need?

Baumit RK70N has a density of 1.4kg per mm per m² (1mm thickness of plaster over 1m²). Each 25kg bag of Baumit RK70 will cover up to 9m² at 2mm thickness or 3.5m² at 5mm thickness.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to set?

Setting times vary with temperature and humidity but in the summer the product will usually stiffen enough to finish in a few hours and set hard overnight. In winter stiffening may be extended to more than one day with hardening more than two days.
