The best way to apply render and plaster to wood fibre insulation.

Find out more about how we approach this building scenario.

In this video we show how to apply the UdiFOUNDATION COAT render but the same process applies to all of our thin coat renders, such as the Baumit MC55, Baumit StarContact, Baumit OpenContact and UdiMultigrund.

The render is applied with a steel trowel at approximately 5-6mm thick over the EPS plinth area and the wood fibre boards. This is then troweled with a 20mm knotched trowel to ensure the correct render thickness.

  1. Hi, Have been following your excellent videos, prior to applying render. Hoping you can point me to a missing video/instruction … namely after window reveals have been prepped with reveal boards/sills/joining tape etc, the reveals also appear to be prepped with angle extrusions and approx 150mm mesh. Is there a video to explain what angle extrusions are used, what adhesive is used to fix these etc? At the opening of this video (The best way to apply render and plaster to wood fibre insulation) none of this additional prep has occurred … then when Chris starts to apply the render, it’s there! Please advise
