What is UdiFRONT?

Find out more about how we approach this building scenario.

UdiFRONT is a really simple external insulation system for both timber framed and brick or block structures. The system uses this Diffutherm tongue and grooved wood fibre insulation board and it is screwed back to the wall or timber studs. It comes in 60 to 200mm thicknesses.

On timber frame buildings you can put the UdiFLEX wood fibre wool between the studs and OSB on the inside to create the most simple method of construction possible. It has no membranes or vapour barriers, it gives you very high levels of insulation and is the easiest way to achieve high insulation levels, like passivhaus construction.

Externally, Unger’s UdiFOUNDATION COAT and self coloured UdiPERL render finishes it off to create a breathable, weather resistant surface.

So, if you want a very simple, quick, high performance and breathable system to create low energy or passivhaus buildings, this is a great system to use. Contact us if you’d like to know more.
