Extremely fine lime finishing plaster – Baumit Klima Glatte
Baumit Klima Glatte is:-
- a beautiful natural white, lime based fine finishing plaster.
- great for finishing walls and ceilings to create a very fine finish
- used as a finishing plaster over Baumit RK38 or Baumit RK70.
- used over lime and cement plasters, no fines concrete and renovating plasters.
Product overview
Where is it used?
- Baumit Klima Glatte is suitable for use in all internal areas, walls and ceilings and capable of achieving a very fine finish.
- It can be used in areas of high humidity due to it’s very breathable nature but not in designated wet rooms.
- It should also not be used to finish gypsum boards or over gypsum plasters.
How is it used?
- Baumit Klima Glatte is mixed by adding to clean water and leaving to sit for 5-10 minutes after which point it can be whisked in to a smooth, creamy, lump-free consistency.
- This is applied to the surface with a steel trowel at 1-2mm thickness and then left to stiffen for around 2 hours (may be longer in cooler, more humid conditions).
- A second, thinner and wetter layer is then applied and used to finish the plaster, bringing the total thickness to around 2mm.
How much will you need?
Baumit Klima Glatt has a density of 1.3kg per mm per m² (1mm thickness of plaster over 1m²). Each 20kg bag will cover up to 8m² at 2mm thickness.

Setting times vary with temperature and humidity but in the summer the product will usually stiffen enough to finish in a few hours and set hard within 24 hours, depending on the thickness of the applied coat. In winter or cooler temperatures stiffening may be extended to more than one day with hardening more than two days.
