Highly flexible airtightness tape – Ampacoll Flexx Pro 60mm x 40m

Ampacoll Flexx Pro flexible airtightness tape is:-

  • a 60mm wide, single sided, tear-resistant, super elastic acrylic adhesive tape.
  • soft and adaptable making it perfect for taping laps in all membranes and in OSB boards.
  • elastic across it’s width and length allowing it to absorb movement in components.
  • suitable for winter application down to -5°C.

The tape will stick tightly to fleecy membranes such as this and its soft, pliable nature means it is easy to work with on membranes laid directly on soft insulation. Airtightness tapes are designed to be able to move and having wrinkles and creases in a membrane tends to very slowly separate the two layers. This is not the fault of the tape is it needs to be able to move with the building and is not designed to resist any tension between the two layers of membrane. Product overview

Where is it used?

  • Ampacoll Flexx Pro airtightness tape is designed for external and internal use and is ideally suited to taping laps and joins in membranes, particularly where the membrane is laid directly on to soft insulation.
  • Because of it’s elastic nature, it is great for sealing around pipes and wires and can be used for taping sole plates to slabs/screeds.

How is it used?

  • Surfaces should be clean, dry and free of dust before the tape is applied.
  • Membranes should not have wrinkles in them, particularly with very stiff membranes and the tape should be gently smoothed out with the Ampack Pressly spreader once in place.
  • On lightly textured boards like OSB a the Ampack Pressure Roller should be used to firmly press the tape into position.
  • When taping OSB or similar boards do not apply in hot/strong sun as it can cause the tape to wrinkle.

How much will you need?

  • Each roll of Ampacoll Flexx Pro tape is 60mm wide and 40m long.
  • For taping OSB boards allow 4-5m per m2 of wall/roof.
  • For membranes allow 1-2m per m2.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use this tape in winter?

Yes, you can use it in temperatures all the way down to -5°C.

Will it stick in wet conditions?

No, the surfaces must be clean and dry. If they are dirty, use the Ampacoll Primax Primer.
