Silverton, Devon Passivhaus performance data

Silverton Passivhaus Performance Data

This pdf shows a plan of the house and where the sets of sensors are located as well as the site of the internal sensor. The house is single storey and North would be straight up the page, East and West, right to left. If you have any questions please contact us.

Silverton Passivhaus data – All data

This Excel file gives hourly temperature and relative humidity readings for the whole occupancy period, from May 2013 until November 2015, for the interior of the house, four measurements through the North, South, East and West walls and the external conditions. The interior and external conditions are measured by a Davis weather station. The sensors within the walls are Sensirion sensors, logged with a laptop. For information on where the sensors are located see the Silverton Passivhaus Plan above. There are few ‘holes’ in the data sets for the loggers within the walls. This is due to instability in the communications between the central PC and the sensors themselves.

The spreadsheet also now includes the data from the ventilation system. This shows temperature and humidity for intake, supply, extract and exhaust air flows and gives a guide to the average temperatures experienced within the building.

This file is 13MB so may take a few moments to download!!

Silverton Passive House data – Period 1

This file gives hourly temperature and relative humidity readings for May, June and July 2013 for the interior of the house, four measurements through the North, South, East and West walls and the external conditions. The interior and external conditions are measured by a Davis weather station. The sensors within the walls are Sensirion sensors, logged with a laptop.

The house is constructed from a 300mm timber frame filled with UdiFLEX wood fibre wool insulation between studs and 140mm of UdiFRONT wood fibre board system on the outside. The sensors are within the internal service void, between the OSB lining and the UdiFLEX, between the udiFLEX and the UdiFRONT and 40mm from the surface of the UdiFRONT. For more info on the wall build-up please contact us.

Silverton Passive House data – Period 2

This file gives hourly temperature and relative humidity readings for August, September and October 2013 for the interior of the house, four measurements through the North, South, East and West walls and the external conditions. The interior and external conditions are meaasured by a Davis weather station. The sensors within the walls are Sensirion sensors, logged with a laptop.

Silverton Passive House data – Period 3

This file gives hourly temperature and relative humidity readings for November and December 2013 and January 2014 for the interior of the house, four measurements through the North, South, East and West walls and the external conditions. The interior and external conditions are measured by a Davis weather station. The sensors within the walls are Sensirion sensors, logged with a laptop. For information on where the sensors are located see the Silverton Passivhaus Plan above.

During this period the house used a total of 1004 kWh of heating which equates to 2.64 kWh/m2 of floor area (or 3.21 if you use the floor area specified within PHPP). This also equates to 0.862 kWh/m3. You can tell we like our facts and figures here!!

Silverton Passive House data – Period 4

This Excel file gives hourly temperature and relative humidity readings for February, March and April 2014 for the interior of the house, four measurements through the North, South, East and West walls and the external conditions. The interior and external conditions are measured by a Davis weather station. The sensors within the walls are Sensirion sensors, logged with a laptop. For information on where the sensors are located see the Silverton Passivhaus Plan above.

Silverton Passive House data – Period 5

This Excel file gives hourly temperature and relative humidity readings for May, June and July 2014 for the interior of the house, four measurements through the North, South, East and West walls and the external conditions. The interior and external conditions are measured by a Davis weather station. The sensors within the walls are Sensirion sensors, logged with a laptop. For information on where the sensors are located see the Silverton Passivhaus Plan above. Disappointingly the rain gauge stopped working for most of June and July due to a fault. There was little rain during those months but more than is seen on this data set.
