Product overview.
Where is it used?
- Ampacoll INT interior airtightness tape is designed for internal use for taping joints around windows/doors, on OSB or ply, sealing around pipes and wires and can be used for taping sole plates to slabs/screeds.
- Due to the special surface on the Ampack vapour control membranes, the Ampacoll INT tape also forms a very strong join between laps in membranes.
How is it used?
- Surfaces should be clean, dry and free of dust before the tape is applied.
- The paper backing needs to be peeled off prior to use and can either be cut to length and then applied or applied straight off of the roll.
- On lightly textured boards like OSB a the Ampack Pressure Roller should be used to firmly press the tape into position.
- When taping OSB or similar boards do not apply in hot/strong sun as it can cause the tape to wrinkle.
- If you are taping to concrete/masonry or wood fibre boards the Ampacoll Primax Primer should be applied and left to dry first. This ensures that the tape will stick properly to these surfaces.
Technical Details
How much will I need?
- Each roll of Ampacoll INT tape is 60mm wide and 40m long.

- For membranes allow 1-2m per m2.
Will it stick in wet conditions?
- No, the surfaces must be clean and dry. If they are dirty, use the Ampacoll Primax Primer.
Can I use this tape in winter?

Material in action.
In this image you can see the Ampacoll INT tape being used for joining laps in the DB90 vapour control membrane. The important thing to take from this image is that there are no creases and wrinkles in the membranes.
Airtightness tapes are designed to be able to move and having wrinkles and creases in a membrane tends to very slowly separate the two layers. This is not the fault of the tape is it needs to be able to move with the building and is not designed to resist any tension between the two layers of membrane.
