NaturHeld Flex flexible wood fibre insulation
NaturHeld Flex flexible wood fibre insulation is:-
- a high density flexible wood fibre batt (with approx. 4% polyester), great for thermal and acoustic insulation.
- a firm, easy-to-cut batt, that does not slump, preventing gap formation in the structure.
- highly insulating with a conductivity of 0.036 W/mK.
- manufactured using almost completely renewable energy, ensuring the maximum amount of carbon is locked into your building.

Product overview
Where is it used?
- In all timber structures, such as floors, walls and roofs.
- In internal partitions or suspended floors as sound insulation.
- Within historic timber frames where keeping the moisture content low is critical.
- Inside recording studios or other sound insulated structures.
How is it used?
- NaturHeld Flex flexible wood fibre wool is simply pressed in between timbers or laid flat on ceilings.
- It is designed to be fitted between timbers at 600mm but if it does need to be cut in any significant quantity then it cuts really easily with an ‘Alligator saw’. These are usually available from tool hire centres or can be bought from DeWalt or Bosch.
- It should be cut 5-10mm wider than the void into which it is being fitted so as a snug fit without voids is achieved. The full depth of the void should be filled too, to avoid air movement within the structure and poor insulation performance.
- NaturHeld Flex is not suitable for cavity wall insulation or use in a masonry cavity as moisture levels will be too high for the product.

How much will you need?
Each batt is 1220mm long, 575mm wide or 0.7015m2 and are sold in packs, the pack sizes are listed in the table below. 50mm, 100mm, 120mm and 140mm thicknesses are kept in stock but other sizes can be order as required.

Are they very soft?
- Compared to an insulation that comes on a roll, NaturHeld Flex is quite a firm product that does not easily compress, making it perfect for insulating between timbers where slump resistance is important.

- The NatureHeld Flex batts, and wood fibre insulation in general, should be kept dry at all times but if it does get wet, ensure that it is left exposed to airflow and protected from rain to let it dry out. If it gets wet it does not need to be disposed of, just simply allowed to dry.
What is their thermal conductivity?
- The thermal conductivity of the NaturHeld Flex is 0.036 W/mK and the density is around 50kg/m³.
