Product overview.
Where is it used?
- The UdiIN2CM boards are used internally on masonry walls.
- The boards can be applied over existing stable plasterwork or bonded directly to masonry substrates.
- UdiIN2CM can also be bonded to ceilings and pitched roof surfaces for renovation.
- Particularly useful in areas where space is at a premium.
How is it used?
- A 6mm layer of UdiFOUNDATION COAT or Baumit StarContact render is applied to the surface as an adhesive layer, using a notched trowel.
- The boards are cut to size using a circular saw or jigsaw and then pressed into the adhesive layer with a light, circular motion.
- After a drying time of around a day the surface of the boards can be plastered with a further 6mm layer of UdiFOUNDATION COAT or Baumit StarContact render, incorporating the strengthening mesh and left to dry.
- The UdiFOUNDATION COAT can be used as a slightly grainy finish or other non-gypsum finishes (such as lime or clay) can be applied, such as Baumit Klima Glatt.
Technical Details
How much will you need?
- The UdiIN 2CM boards are 1150 x 750mm and 23mm thick, they cover an area of 0.8625 m² per board. Allow at least 5% for wastage.
Do the boards need fixings?
- No, they are purely adhesively fixed and don’t need any sort of fixings, making them ideal for soft, friable substrates.
What is their thermal conductivity?
- The official calculated thermal conductivity is 0.089 W/mK. However, we’ve measured them in-situ with our U-value testing kit and they seem to perform at 0.049 W/mK.

Material in action.
This video shows the basics of how the adhesive lime plaster is applied and how easily the boards are applied to the wall. The whole process is rather like tiling really.
Once the boards are bonded and the adhesive plaster has set, the boards can be finished with a thin layer plaster coat, incorporating the reinforcing mesh, and then skimmed with a lime finish coat.
