We have created a range of air tightness tapes and membranes to complement all aspects of building with our systems. From a few different manufacturers, our practical range of air tightness products covers all the areas needed to give you the best air testing results possible.
From simple vapour control layers and breather membranes to more intelligent variable membranes, these are the products to ensure your building is dry and air tight. Whether you are building with timber frame or masonry we have all the tapes, sealants and accessories to ensure your building is as energy efficient as possible.

Why are there so many membranes?
Breather & Roofing Membranes
Starting with our range of breathable membranes, these products can be used on roofs, walls, or floors, depending on the requirements of the situation. Each product has it's own unique properties which makes it more suited to different scenarios.
New innovations in membranes mean we have much longer lasting and weather resistant monolithic membranes, highly vapour permeable membranes for retrofit undertaken from the exterior, black facade membranes that are vapour permeable but also UV stable for many years so that open facades can be safely created.
Breathable membranes that can be welded to ensure weather sealing are now available for use in roof pitches down to 5 degrees. This allows tiled or slated roofs to be safely constructed at much lower pitches than would be traditionally possible with conventional membranes.

Airtightness & Vapour Control Membranes
Whilst breathable construction allows the movement of moisture through it, it can only do so at a given rate. Vapour control membranes of different permeabilities are used to regulate the flow of moisture so that materials within the walls do not become saturated from too much moisture.
Vapour control membranes are always used on the inner face of the wall and also make structures airtight so that ventilation can be controlled and moisture laden air does not escape into cold structures.

Airtightness Tapes
Airtightness tapes use different carriers (the main body of the tape) and different adhesives, depending on their uses. Our selection of tapes here are all suited to different areas of application.
Many of our tapes use UV stable carriers so that they can be used externally as well as internally. This ensures that even after a few months of exposure to the weather, the tape maintains it's integrity and does not risk breaking or shrinking.
Some tapes are designed to be used solely indoors and have elastic or adhesive properties that are only possible away from sunlight. All external tapes can be used indoors but only external tapes can be used outdoors.
Sealants & Primers
Finally, to ensure you have the best connection between your membranes and the surrounding surfaces, below is our range of primers and sealants.
The primer can be used on all surfaces ranging from wood fibre insulation, to masonry or rough wood surfaces, in high humidity and below freezing temperatures. The sealants often don't need a primer and stick virtually anything to anything, even in the wet!
